What to Expect during Your First Visit to Our Oral Surgery Practice in Colleyville, TX

We want every experience at Texas Oral Surgery Specialists to be the very best it can be.  Your first visit will be a consultation with Dr. Chris Tye to discuss your diagnosis and treatment options.   A detailed medical history, physical examination, and evaluation of necessary diagnostic tests will allow us to develop an individualized treatment plan. We will also discuss all financial options prior to any procedures.  Once we determine the right treatment, Dr. Tye will complete your care at a second visit. Depending on your needs and the type of treatment you are to undergo, you may require several additional appointments. As the first dual degreed oral and maxillofacial surgeon in Tarrant County, Dr. Tye provides truly outstanding care at his Colleyville, TX, practice.

What to Bring With You:

Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your first visit:

  • Surgical Referral Slip and X-rays (if applicable)
  • A list of your current medications
  • Medical or dental insurance information with the appropriate forms filled out.  If your insurance requires a referral, please obtain this before your consultation at our office.
  • Be prepared to discuss any medical conditions that may be of concern prior to surgery.

Who should come to the Appointment?

All minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. We will convey all pertinent information prior to the surgical appointment. That way, you will know exactly what is going on with your child’s treatment and how you can best expedite his or her recovery. We will also obtain all appropriate legal consents, and we will take the time to answer any questions that you may have.

X-Rays

If you already have recent dental x-rays, there is often no reason to obtain further images. You can have your doctor forward the x-rays to our office or you can bring physical copies to your first appointment. If you do not have current images, or if they are unclear or illegible, we can easily take digital x-rays at our office. Our digital radiography is much sharper than traditional film images, allowing for more accurate diagnostics and treatment planning.

Facial Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT)

Texas Oral Surgery Specialists is equipped with cutting-edge digital imaging.  These systems provide three-dimensional reconstructions of the entire face and skull. Thus, we can provide more accurate diagnoses, and we can plan fully customized oral surgeries. With this digital technology available in-house, we can perform your entire treatment in one location. Thus, we can save you the hassle of visiting multiple practices. Often, we can complete your treatment more quickly, as well.

Insurance and Financing

We know that your budget is a major concern when you are preparing for treatment. Our team is happy to review your policy in advance so you know how much coverage you are going to receive. To speed this process and to help us obtain the maximum amount of coverage, please provide your information at least seven to ten days before your first appointment. If you do not have insurance, or if you need help paying for the remainder of your procedure, we are happy to discuss your other payment options.
