First Visit

What to Expect:

We want every experience at Texas Oral Surgery Specialist to be the very best it can be.  Your first visit will be a consultation with Dr. Tye to discuss your diagnosis and treatment options.   A detailed medical history, physical examination, and evaluation of necessary diagnostic texts will allow us to develop an individualized treatment plan.  All financial options will be discussed in detail prior to completion of any procedures.  Any desired treatment will be performed at a second visit.

Before your First Visit:

Please Register Online to expedite the check-in process.

What to Bring With You:

Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your first visit:

  • Surgical Referral Slip and X-rays (if you have them)
  • A list of your current medications
  • Medical or Dental Insurance Information with the appropriate forms filled out.  If your insurance requires a referral, please obtain this prior to your consultation at our office.
  • Please be prepared to discuss any medical conditions that may be of concern prior to surgery.

Who should come to the Appointment?

All minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. This is to insure that the consents are appropriately discussed and that all pertinent information is conveyed to the parent or guardian prior to the surgical appointment.

If your dentist or physician has previously taken x-rays they can be either forwarded to our office, or you may bring a physical copy with you. If additional films are required, digital x-rays can be easily taken at our office.

Facial Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT)

At Texas Oral Surgery Specialists, we have state of the art of digital imaging available in our facility.  This allows us to complete 3 Dimensional  (3D) reconstructions of the face and skull for diagnosis and treatment planning oral surgery procedures.  We are very happy to be able to provide this service in our own facility rather than having to send patients to another facility and return for additional treatment planning.
